Planet Fashion ("we", "us", "our") is a not-for-profit initiative (unincorporated charitable association), committed to eliminating plastic and forever chemicals from the fashion industry. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data when you visit planetfashion.org.

Planet Fashion is based in the United Kingdom. For the purposes of UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, we are the data controller for personal information collected through this website.

When you join the community
- Your name, email address, and profile information you provide during registration
- Organisation name, role, and sector (for business/organisation profiles)
- Profile bio, social links, and any other information you choose to share
When you subscribe to our newsletter
- Your email address and name
Automatically collected data
- IP address and browser type (for security and spam prevention)
- Pages visited and time spent (analytics, only with your consent — see Cookies below)
3. How we use your data
- To provide our service — managing your account, displaying your profile in the community directory (if you opt in), and sending you updates you have requested.
- To send newsletters — only if you have subscribed. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email.
- To improve the site — anonymised analytics help us understand what content is useful. This only occurs with your cookie consent.
- To ensure security — preventing spam, abuse, and unauthorised access.
4. Legal basis for processing
- Consent — newsletter subscriptions and analytics cookies.
- Contract — processing your account details to provide the service you have signed up for.
- Legitimate interests — site security and fraud prevention.

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:
- Brevo (email delivery) — your name and email are processed to send transactional emails and newsletters.
- Google Analytics — anonymised usage data, only if you consent to analytics cookies.
- Railway (hosting) — our infrastructure provider processes data on servers in the EU/US under appropriate safeguards.
7. Data retention
- Account data is retained while your account is active and deleted within 30 days of a deletion request.
- Newsletter subscriber data is retained until you unsubscribe.
- Server logs are retained for up to 90 days for security purposes.
8. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Object to or restrict processing
- Withdraw consent at any time (this does not affect processing carried out before withdrawal)
